The UK National Health Service (NHS) is said to be the third biggest organisation in the world. It has adopted challenging sustainability targets including reducing its carbon footprint by 80% by 2050.
Terra Infirma was assigned the task of engaging the board of directors of the NHS Blood & Transplant Special Health Authority to raise awareness of the size of the challenge and to kickstart the development of a sustainability strategy to meet the NHS's national targets. The workshop covered: the business case for sustainability, what sustainability means and a practical exercise to apply those principles to NHSBT.
"Gareth's advice, insights and experience have been exceptionally useful to us. I have no hesitation in recommending Gareth and Terra Infirma Ltd to any organisation which wants to take sustainability seriously."
Shaun Eglen, NHSBT
