Sustainability Training, Aker Solutions Ltd
Aker Solutions was the engineering arm of the international Aker conglomerate - the company has since been bought by Jacobs Engineering. In October 2009, Terra Infirma delivered workshops on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Eco-design for the company employees on Teesside. The aim of the workshops was to improve the awareness and understanding of these issues to employees.
As with all Terra Infirma training, the attendees applied their learning to their business – to the business as a whole for the CSR workshop and to individual projects for the Eco-design workshop. For the former, the workshop identified a range of issues that needed addressing and a series of business opportunities relating to climate change adaptation. As a result of the training, Gareth Kane was asked to present findings to the company’s CSR committee.
