Code for Sustainable Homes, Gentoo Housing Group
Terra Infirma carried out an extensive study into a proposed residential development in North Tyneside on behalf of Gentoo Ventures Ltd, part of the Gentoo Housing Group. The development consisted of the refurbishment of two historic buildings, one listed, and a new building.
Terra Infirma assessed the options for all three, including meeting different levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes, proposed two scenarios and costed each. The options included renewable energy systems (including a shared biomass system), materials, advice on insulating pre 1919 buildings and water management.
