We are two!

Happy Birthday, Terra Infirma, two years old today!

This is a key milestone as most businesses do not get this far, so I'm sure you'll excuse the self indulgence.

And it's been quite a year - many new clients, some of them very big (the EU...), many exciting projects, becoming an incorporated company and launching The Low Carbon Agenda.

And it's going to be an interesting year - we have a number of clients lined up to start on the Lean, Mean & Green Programme, have been booked to deliver some more workshops at the Low Carbon Innovation Exchange and the Green Business Bible is definitely on its way!

But, with the economic situation, it is going to be a challenge. I believe that spending on environmental issues is not discretionary but essential to cut costs. Many of the problems we solve are hardnosed issues like "why are you throwing away £00000s worth of product?" rather than hugging trees. It has to be said that it is much easier to get this message across these days.

Lastly, I'd like to thank all of you - the readers of this blog (especially those who comment). We'll be raising a glass tonight and I hope you'll raise a metaphorical one with us.

Do you want to be Lean, Mean & Green?

We've had so much interest in our new Lean, Mean & Green programme, we've produced a one page A4 flyer to give you an opportunity to judge whether it is for you.

The Lean, Mean & Green Flyer can be seen here.

Bits & Pieces

There's all sorts of news at Terra Infirma...

1. We've set up the 'Green Business Club' on the business networking site Ecademy for those who see environmental performance as a competitive advantage.

2. The long trailed e-book "The Green Business Bible" is in the very last stages of completeness (cover design, final proofing) and will be launched by the end of the month. Low Carbon Agenda subscribers will be eligible for a substantial discount, so make sure you are signed up - it's free and officially "awesome".

3. We're in negotiation with a number of very prestigious organisations for new 'Lean, Mean & Green' programmes - the effective way of improving your environmental performance.

4. We're getting a make-over in the design and branding front - although it'll be a couple of months before you see the results.

And, it's the start of the holiday period, so if you're off somewhere nice, have a good'un!

Changes!

Out With The Old...

Unfortunately, due to the budget settlement, Envirowise has withdrawn their free 'FastTrack' and 'DesignTrack' visits, so we will no longer be able to offer these services to our customer base.

The eagle-eyed may also have noticed that references to the North Tyneside Resource Efficiency Club have been removed from this website. We had been waiting for a year to launch the Club, but circumstances outside our control have led to funding cancellation.

In With The New!

However, we are pleased to announce our own new services:

1. The Low Carbon Business Programme

2. Lean, Mean & Green

These are similar, but with the first focusing more on the carbon agenda, while the second is more general, covering energy, waste, raw materials and toxics. They will engage your staff to develop solutions embedded into your processes and will build capacity for you to make improvements into the future. This is a world away from the usual 'write a fat report, submit the invoice and walk away' approach to consultancy. Prices are on a sliding scale depending on the number of employees in the organisation. please Contact us for more details.
