Does Sustainability Sell? with Frédéric Dalsace, IMD
10 years ago, Paul Polman and his baby, the Unilever Sustainability Living Plan, were the rock stars of corporate Sustainability. But in 2019, Polman was asked to step down and the Plan came to an end in 2020. What happened?
According to this week’s podcast guest, Frédéric Dalsace, Professor of Marketing at the prestigious IMD business school and co-author of a new book, Clean Winners, Polman misjudged the public’s view of Sustainability. In a sometimes quite robust conversation, Frédéric explains why he thinks business is getting Sustainability wrong and proposes Sustainability 2.0. It’s fair to say we didn’t agree on everything!
