NET! Zero at Wimbledon with Hattie Park, AELTC
On Monday morning, someone dressed all in white will toss a rubber and felt ball in the air and thwack it down to the far end of an oblong of grass. And with that, this year’s Wimbledon tennis tournament will begin, attracting half a million spectators and 500+ elite athletes to a small corner of South West London over the next fortnight – all of whom will need feeding and watering.
So how do you manage the carbon footprint of such an intense happening where nothing can be allowed to go wrong? Well, you ask Hattie Park to sort it. I first met Hattie when she brought me in to do some work at the BBC many years ago and when I started the podcast, she was high on my list of guests as she is so good at what she does. It was great to catch up – and learn the secrets of Sustainability in SW19.
