Get out of your Sustainability comfort zone
I had a project meeting this morning with one of our associates, Anna-Lisa Mills of True North Sustainability. Once we had nailed down the key questions for our client meeting next week, we started putting the world to rights. One of the issues we discussed was how far we as a profession are quite conservative in our approach to methods. For example, the waste hierarchy is 40 years old this year, but if you dare to suggest it might be getting a bit long in the tooth, people get quite put out. As Anna-Lisa put it, if we’re asking our clients to try something new, we’d better be prepared to think differently too.
Fired up by this chat, I came to back to Terra Infirma Towers and rewrote much of our 12½ Kick Ass Sustainability Ideas for 2019 webinar. In previous years, I have eased people in quite slowly and built up to the more radical ideas, but this year it is going to be wham bam from the very start. Join us and see what you think!
