Yesterday afternoon I was out celebrating an achievement of a friend of mine and rolled home at about 7pm, moderately lubricated and clutching a portion of fish and chips. Imagine my surprise to find that my podcast episode on creating demand for sustainable products and services had been set to music by Mik Aidt – with the help of a little AI. Quite a lot of giggling ensued…

 
Obviously I’m tickled pink that Mik was inspired by the episode to produce this music. It’s one of a number of tracks he has made for his podcast, The Sustainable Hour. He says has attracted some flak for this given the energy demand by AI platforms, and of course there is the copyright dimension too, but Mik argues that it is impossible to put the AI genie back in the bottle.

I’ve been trying to secure a podcast guest to talk over AI and sustainability issues – I’ll redouble my efforts so we can have a proper debate. But for now, I’m still smiling.
